National Industrial Training Authority (NITA) won the best overall trophy for the best middle level education institutional stand during this year’s Kisumu ASK show that opened its gates to the public from 29th July to the 2nd of August 2015 at the Mamboleo Show Ground.
In line with the theme ‘Enhancing technology in agriculture and industry for food security and national growth’, exhibitors from all over the country showcased a rich selection of exhibits representing all sectors of the economy with NITA being in the frontline through enhanced Industrial training.
The participation of NITA in the Kisumu Regional Show is in-line with the expansion efforts of awareness and education programmes by the Authority and Public Participation. By holding this exhibition, the Authority saw it as a milestone in enhancing its corporate image and identity to the public in the lake side region which is home to one of the Authority’s centre Kisumu Industrial Training Authority (KITC).
The ASK remains very important forums for creating public awareness through interaction with various stakeholders on diverse Industrial training programmes. The large number of participants who visited the NITA stand provided an opportunity and a cost effective way of disseminating and gathering information on NITA’s Mandate to the public.  Today, the Authority can boast of having expanded its participation in ASK shows in cities and major towns across the country i.e Kisumu and Eldoret including the upcoming Mombasa and Nairobi.
Trade test section had an opportunity to book in students who visited the stand and were up to beat the 31st July 2015 deadline. The Levy section received numerous employers who were willing to register with the Authority. The attachment section was frequented by a large number of students who were impressed by the ITAP system which made their application for attachment easier, other sections exhibited by KITC included: electrical, mechanical, automotive, ICT and building.
The Director of Industrial Training Mr. Ogenga visited the stand and was impressed by the great work done by the team that made Nita standout in an exceptional way, he reiterated that it was worth the victory. Kisumu Governor Hon. Jack Ranguma and the Chief guest, Homabay County  Governor Hon. Cyprian Awiti made a stop at the stand and were taken through all NITA exhibits they were pleased by the Authority’s Services to the Lake region.
