First Round of Deliberations on the Review of Advanced Solar Photovoltaic Training Course in Kenya (T3) gets underway.

The review of the Advanced Solar Photovoltaic Training Course in Kenya (T3) led by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) Kenya, is currently on-going with stakeholders drawn from various organizations that are pro-Solar, GIZ , NITA as well as the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) having the first consultative meeting at the Fairview Hotel on the 3rd of August 2017.

The meeting was fruitful as it enabled the various stakeholders present to critique the Draft Review Report on the course, a session that was led by Mr. Frank Jackson, a Solar Electrical Engineer at Renac (Renewables Academy).

NITA was ably represented by the Industrial Training, Marketing and Curriculum Development Sections at the meeting where the Authority’s mandate, vision as well as the state of curriculum development in the country were spelt out to the stakeholders present. The NITA Team also gave an insight on its role in the Kenya National Qualification Framework while also emphasizing on the role that the Sector Training Committees, especially the Committee concerned with Energy will play based on the developments from the meeting.  The journey to accreditation was also one of highlights of the meeting.

The meeting resolved that the various recommendations brought forward would be incorporated into the next draft report for the curriculum.

We here at NITA wish the concerned stakeholders all the very best as they prepare for the second round of deliberations.
