The National Industrial Training Authority - NITA on Friday spearheaded a tree growing exercise at Chepalungu Forest in Bomet County, in partnership with the Kenya Forest Service and the local community.
During the exercise, over 12,500 trees were planted, bringing the total number of trees grown since last year to more than 25,000.
This activity is part of Kenya’s ambitious target to grow 15 billion trees by 2032, a key strategy in combating the effects of climate change and restoring forest cover across the country.
