The National Industrial Training Authority (NITA) has successfully assessed the first cohort of 50 Kenyan workers destined for Russia. This marks the country’s historic entry into a new and promising labour market, expanding opportunities for skilled Kenyans on the global stage.
The 50 pioneers are part of a larger group of 2,784 candidates who have undergone rigorous training and assessment through NITA, in collaboration with 45 accredited Homecare Assistant and Pre-Departure Training Centres. All trainees have been equipped with essential life skills, preparing them to meet the demands of international employers and thrive in diverse work environments abroad.
This initiative supports the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA), which prioritizes labour mobility as a key strategy to reduce unemployment and increase access to decent work opportunities for Kenyans globally.
Since the inception of the program in 2020, NITA has assessed over 240,000 Kenyans, enabling thousands to secure employment overseas and contribute to national economic development through skills export and remittances.
