600 Trainees Inducted as They Embark on a Transformative Skills Development Journey

On Friday morning, the air around the Masonry Workshop at NITA Nairobi Centre of Excellence was filled with anticipation. 600 young men and women — full of hope, ambition, and curiosity — gathered for what marked the beginning of a transformative journey: their official induction into the National Industrial Training Authority.
The induction program offered critical insights into the training structure under the National Skills Certification (NSC) framework, including assessment procedures and conduct expectations. Sector heads from Building, Electrical & Solar PV, ICT, Automotive, Mechanical, and Hospitality gave overviews of their departments — outlining both opportunities and expectations.
The trainees also received guidance on industrial attachments, the Centre rules and the code of conduct. They also received counselling and psychosocial support, emphasizing the holistic nature of training at NITA.
In his address, Mr. Fidelis Odumo, the Manager of the NITA Nairobi Centre, reminded the trainees that they are now part of a nationwide mission to build a competent, skilled workforce for Kenya.
The induction ended with an open plenary session and informal networking — a perfect start to what promises to be a transformative experience.
